Wordless Wednesday: SBF Commercial Kitchen is 99.9% Finished!!

Thanks, you guys! As oif this afternoon the kitchen is 99.999% complete - and final-final inspection is scheduled for next week. Can you believe that just three months ago that baking room, storage room and bathroom portion was just a dirt floor in a lean-to wing of the barn with an old wood garage door?!! And can you believe that we did most of the visible, pretty parts of this kitchen (tile, walls, windows, trim, painting, oven mosaic...) ourselves (with invaluable help from some friends and WWOOFers!)?!! And that all those recycled/recovered materials look so fantastic!? I know the hard work of baking is about to begin, but I think Rog is looking forward to NOT working 16-hour days for a while.
In September 2008, we dived into our dream of creating a small, sustainable farm. Neither of us has previous farming experience, but we have enthusiasm and many ideas for this little 10-acre farmstead.
