Evening Constitutional

You would think we get plenty of exercise around here, doing the chores and gardening, but it's not really aerobic exercise. Rog and I have resolved to go biking or walking every day and lose a few pounds.
On Sunday we biked to Pine Island (10 miles away) and returned sopping wet in the rain, so I was  glad I had not brought my camera. Last night we walked the 3-mile loop and I took photos.
To the east, the neighbor's  recently hayed field glowed in the setting sun. The weather for farming has been so  ideal that he has already gotten two crops of hay in.
The view to the southwest.  I love the gently undulating landscape. It has been tropically warm with lots of rain--so everything is GREEN, GREEN GREEN..

The pretty farmstead on the first corner of our walk.
Rabbits munching on the clover.
Encroaching development--it's just a mile down the road and headed our way.
A white-tailed deer ran across the road in front of us and disappeared into the cornfield.
The corn surpassed the proverbial knee-high by the 4th of July mark. Yesterday on July 5th it was taller than Rog's 6 feet.
The neighbor's pretty cattle came over to greet us. Their vivid orange ear tags glowed in the sun.  The tags are for fly-repellant. Love those black knee-caps!
Another neighbor has two huge pear trees along the road.  They appear to have a good crop coming.
Chokecherries are ripe. Maybe we should try making some chokecherry wine...in our spare time.

Thanks so much for sharing your bike ride with us...it's gorgeous country! I think the cows' ear tags are quite stylish...and how nice that they're all coordinated. ;-)
