This week marks two years since I started growing and selling sprouts to the co-op. I have come a long way since then. I can now recognize one sprout seed mix from another. I've learned the specific challenges of growing during hot, humid summer and during cold, dry winter. I have developed a pretty efficient and reliable system. A dedicated sprout-growing room. Three wholesale organic seed suppliers. A fancy scale and lots of other sprout-growing gear. Restaurant customers. I'm growing 20+ pounds of sprouts a week. That doesn't sound like much, but it adds up -- it's more than half a ton of sprouts a year!

Wow, that's quite a big business you have! I never thought sprouts would be so lucrative!
I don't know if you could call it lucrative at this small scale! It does add to the diversity of my farm enterprises, but growing sprouts is a lot like having a milk cow--they have to be well rinsed and drained twice a day, every single day.
Wow, has it really been two years? That's amazing! Well, I celebrated your anniversary (unknowingly) by putting some of your sprouts on my sandwich at dinner last night :)
Kaden was all a-buzz when I got home talking about the chickens. And he said "Nonna...I mean REAL chickens!" :)
Kaden was so adorable! He really liked the cows and chickens.
The cat must really enjoy posing for the camera! :)
