Cawcawphony
There was a raucous ruckus at the compost bins this afternoon. The three barn chickens had ventured out and were scratching through the frozen goodies in the compost, but apparently this crow wanted first dibs.
The crows out at our place were having a battle with a pair of red-tail hawks yesterday evening at our place. Talk about a lot of noise! My bet was on the hawks, and since the crows are so damaging to our pecan crop, I was glad to have the "watch hawks" on duty.. :)
In September 2008, we dived into our dream of creating a small, sustainable farm. Neither of us has previous farming experience, but we have enthusiasm and many ideas for this little 10-acre farmstead.

I guess I'm weird but I love crows.
My money's on the chickens!
Looks like there is enough compost to share.
That is a big crow!
